My Face Costs How Much?!?!

Updated: Mar 19, 2019

I’m a frequent makeup user, there’s maybe one or two days a week that I don’t wear makeup, and I love it! Beauty is my favorite topic on my blog because it can be used in many different ways, and you can create millions of different looks. It truly is an art! Because I use makeup everyday, I became curious how much it costs me to wear makeup on a daily basis. How much does it cost me a day to get ready? I may not go for a full coverage look every day, just because of the amount of time it takes, but if I could, I would! So, I'm basing my calculations off of doing a full coverage, day-to-day look with my favorite products, from high-end to drugstore.

I used the number of days it takes me to use up a product to get my totals. {For example, I use the Stila Huge Extreme Lash mascara up in about 3 months, 6 days a week, and it retails for $23. 6 days X 4 weeks = 24 days X 3 months = 72 days of use. $23 / 72 days = $0.32 per day.}

So, here’s the break down:

Face Products:

Tarte Hydragel Foundation- $0.50

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer- $0.28

Benefit Hoola Bronzer- $0.15

Dermablend Setting Powder- $0.23

Maybelline Master Prime- $0.08

BeccaxJaclyn Hill Palette (Highlight & Blush)- $0.73

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray- $0.33

Total cost of face products =$2.30

Eye Products:

Morphe 35O Matte Palette- $0.03

Urban Decay Razor Sharp Eye Liner- $0.28

Benefit Roller Lash-$0.33

Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara- $0.32

MorphexJaclyn Hill Palette-$0.06

Duo Lash Glue-$0.07

Ardele Lashes-$7.99

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer-$0.12

Total cost of eye products = $9.20

Brow Products:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz-$0.13

Maybelline Brow Fiber Volumizer-$0.06

Total cost of brow products = $0.19

Lip Products:

NYX Liquid Lingerie-$0.05

NYX Butter Gloss-$0.03

Colourpop Lippie Pencil-$0.03

Total cost of lip products = $0.11

GRAND TOTAL = $11.80

Here are some pictures of some of my favorite looks. (I apologize for the quality as they were all taken on Snapchat)

Overall, I was expecting my total to be a little higher! I also thought my face products category would be the most expensive, not my eye products. It was a lot of fun figuring this out, and I hope you enjoyed reading about it!

How much does your face cost? If you have the time, figure it out! Maybe figure out the cost of each of your favorite looks to see the difference between them. Which of your categories was the most expensive?
